About Duiwelsgat Hiking Trail

Starting at the municipal campsite near Gansbaai harbour, the Duiwelsgat Hiking Trail follows the coast to De Kelders and Duiwelsgat. The route takes in a number of historical sites before reaching Klipgat, a Stone Age site in a cave.

Along the way hikers will pass Stanford’s Cove, used as a harbour in the 1840s, and a beautiful swimming pool in a cave at De Kelders. The sea cliffs offer amazing whale watching opportunities between June and November.
