About Fig Tree Restaurant

The Fig Tree Restaurant is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, teas and coffees and cakes and is licensed.

The establishment of Fig Tree Restaurant, which is situated in the main Opstal area of the De Hoop Collection, has been steered by the experienced hand of Judi Dyason, best-known for cofounding the world-renowned Prue Leith School of Cooking in South Africa. Dyason also trained the chefs and catering staff at all of The Madikwe Collection’s lodges. With a shaded terrace overlooking the De Hoop Nature Reserve, The Fig Tree Restaurant offers a full a la carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“We pride ourselves on sourcing products from local suppliers and on changing the menu according to what is in season – this ensures that all dishes benefit from the freshest ingredients,” says Dyason.

We have been at Fig Tree Restaurant last month. We wanted to have an à la carte dinner - unfortunately we got a menu with a 3 course dinner and the choice to take it completely or only the main course. As there are beautiful braais near the accommodations and enough glasses, plates and cutlery, that would be the better choice.
